Course Description: This course has been approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry for purposes of Continuing Professional Development. The course then looks at preparing for problems, how to identify problems and the troubleshooting process. Participants will then implement the knowledge gained through exercises on troubleshooting chromatograms. The course has a strong focus on the practical information regarding the techniques, with instrument parts and consumables to see and chromatograms to troubleshoot. The knowledge gained can be utilised the instant you return to your lab.

Target Audience: This course is aimed at participants with good knowledge of gas chromatography and would like to learn in detail about troubleshooting.

Learning Objectives:
You will learn the logical steps of instrument troubleshooting and how to break the instrument
down into modules. You will learn how to examine chromatograms, identify any problems seen and determine which part of the instrument could be the cause and gain practical experience of this process.

About the Instructor

Diane is the Founder, Director and Senior Consultant of Anthias Consulting Ltd, which provides training and consultancy in analytical techniques. Diane has over 20 years’ experience in Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry and related techniques, providing support with method development and optimisation, applications, sample analysis work-flow improvements, interpretation, data analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting. Diane is a regular presenter at seminars and conferences around the world and has been a trustee of the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund since 2016 and is the current chair, as well as the president of the Royal Society of Chemistry Analytical Sciences Community.
