COURSE DESCRIPTION: Coaching others to enhance job skills and productivity is a critical managerial skill. Mentoring others focuses on their future development and goals. Multiple studies show that employees feel most managers do far too little coaching and almost no mentoring. This interactive program covers tools and techniques to increase confidence and build skills useful for effective coaches and mentors. Multiple exercises give participants practice enhancing current job performance and helping prepare for new roles, as well as strategies to improve mentoring. As a result of attending the program, participants leave with: – Practical approaches to managing performance – Approaches to give feedback without encountering resistance – Increased confidence in handling difficult situations – Strategies to develop and mentor others.

TARGET AUDIENCE: All managers who would like to expand and improve their coaching and mentoring skills or get input on how to handle specific situations.

About the Instructor

Elizabeth N. Treher PhD has extensive experience radiopharmaceutical discovery and development, clinical research, radionuclide migration, solar neutrino research, and basic radiochemistry of nuclear fission. She led teams that patented brain & heart imaging agents. Liz has more than 90 publications & patents. Liz has an M.A. and Ph.D. in nuclear and radiochemistry and was a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. An invited member of the first U.S. delegation to China for Education and Training & co-founder of The Learning Key®, Liz has designed many team-based learning tools, including The PHARM Game®.
