The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Pittcon) is a Pennsylvania not-for-profit, educational corporation organized by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP) and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP). Since 1950 we have produced “Pittcon”, the world’s premier Conference and Exposition devoted to laboratory science.

Pittcon is committed to honoring the privacy of those who visit our website. The Privacy Policy governs how we collect, store, and use information about our visitors. It will be continuously reexamined in light of new technologies, new business practices, and the changing needs of our visitors.

What information is being collected?

General Users: Pittcon does not collect any personal identifying information from users just browsing our website. Our server recognizes your domain name and the pages that you visit. These data are gathered in an aggregate manner for quality control, statistical purposes and improvement of our site. This information is never forwarded to any third parties.

Abstract Authors/Agenda Builder Users: Personal information collected from you is used to fulfill a service such as abstract submission or personal agenda calendar creation. All data are submitted voluntarily. Information provided on our Form(s) is used internally and will not be shared with a third party without your consent.

Mailing List Opt-Ins: Personal information collected from you is used only by Pittcon and is not distributed by Pittcon to third parties without your consent.

Online Registration: Mailing address information collected from you is used by Pittcon and Pittcon exhibiting companies as distributed through a third party. In addition, phone, fax, and email information will be provided to Pittcon exhibitors you visit on the exposition floor when your Expocard is swiped. This information may also be provided to other Pittcon exhibitors who purchase the Conferee mailing list unless you indicate otherwise on the online form. Also, resgistration information is used to report general demographic statistics to Pittcon exhibiting companies and media representatives.

How will your information be used?

Pittcon uses information collected on the Web site to enhance its products and services. Demographic information is specifically used for the purpose of monitoring or improving the use of and satisfaction with our Web site. Pittcon ensures the security and privacy of any personally identifiable information that we collect.

Pittcon Mailing List Opt-Ins Disclosure to Third Parties: Pittcon uses your e-mail address to respond to your request(s) and to relay communication such as important correspondence regarding the upcoming Pittcon. The database and its contents remain with us and stay with our provider. Your personal data is not passed on by us or by our agents for use by third parties in any form whatsoever, unless we have obtained your consent or an official injunction to do so. We offer you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your information shared with third parties that are not affiliated with the The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy.
