The results aren’t in yet…but they’re coming soon.
One thing’s for certain: These sure are some uncertain times.

You’re probably wondering what we’re planning for Pittcon 2021. We understand that, after all, you have to plan your Pittcon, too. We hear – and read – your concerns, which is why we ask that you please take a moment to read the text below. If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact Pittcon Marketing at marketing@pittcon.org.

What is being planned for Pittcon 2021?
The short answer is: We’re working on it. We share your concern, which is why we’re diligently planning to make a final decision very soon on how Pittcon 2021 is to be implemented.

The long answer is: We have to consider a lot of moving parts, and most importantly, we have to acknowledge and respect the deadlines of our exhibitors, our Technical Program and Short Course participants, and all of our attendees. We have to think about travel restrictions and the policies of our host location, New Orleans, Louisiana. We also have to fastidiously examine exactly how we’re going to safely and securely implement Pittcon 2021. We want to ensure your investment in Pittcon 2021 is returned, and more so, we want to ensure that Pittcon 2021 sparks the same amount of collaboration and innovation as the 70 Pittcons prior. This takes time and a great deal of effort. We appreciate your patience, and we anticipate details on Pittcon 2021’s implementation to follow very shortly in parallel with situations, policies, and restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Will Pittcon 2021 be face-to-face or virtual?
We’re currently planning for both. We want to make Pittcon accessible for everyone, everywhere, and without the apprehension caused by virus-related restrictions. We owe it to you – our exhibitors and attendees – to plan the best conference we can, given the circumstances.

We are approaching this situation realistically. We’re beholden to the same restrictions you are. We’re not thrilled about it either, but such is this modern age. What we can do is to keep planning, to move forward, to advance for the sake of the scientific collaboration Pittcon has always represented.

We have to be adaptable while respecting that a final decision needs to be made with enough time for our exhibitors and attendees to plan accordingly. This means that even though we are planning both a face-to-face and virtual conference, we realize that we may need to adapt to a fully virtual conference. Regardless, we have plans in place and ready to be activated to communicate to you the moment any decision, any change is made.
