Beautiful host city Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Pittcon is a friendly, welcoming environment where analytical chemists at all professional levels meet. Pittcon is a platform for sharing ideas and cooperating to form new ones. Here, you will find that spark that drives your research, your career, and above all, your scientific perspective forward.

Anyone who develops, buys, or sells laboratory equipment, performs physical or chemical analyses, develops analysis methods, or manages these scientists.

Pittcon donates approximately one million dollars annually to support various science education and outreach activities.
2023 Wallace H. Coulter Lecture
Venturing Into Analytical Chemistry Using Photonic Crystals

Michael Nutter Theater
5:30 PM
Harvard University
This presentation will introduce a powerful colloidal co-assembly approach that results in large-scale, highly ordered porous photonic crystals. The unique coloration of these opal films combines iridescence with plasmonic effects. Their composition and optical properties are demonstrated to be locally tunable using selective functionalization of the doped opals. The latter exhibit a sharply defined threshold wettability for infiltration. This liquid-specific wetting behavior naturally couples to macroscopic color changes.
What to Expect
Our goal is to advance scientific endeavor through collaboration, bringing together a world of knowledge to impact, enrich, and inspire the future of science. Pittcon is a catalyst for the exchange of information, a showcase of the latest advances in laboratory science, and a venue for international connectivity.
Pittcon’s transnational exposition gives you the opportunity to see the latest laboratory instrumentation, participate in demonstrations and product seminars, talk directly with technical experts, and find solutions to all your laboratory challenges.
◉ Technical Program
One of the foremost analytical chemistry conferences, Pittcon’s technical program provides participants with direct access to the latest research and developments from top scientists and innovators found throughout the world.
◉ Short Courses
With over 60 from which to choose, these courses cover significant topics in bioanalytics, cannabis, energy, enviroscience, food science, forensics, industry, life sciences, nanotechnology, materials science, pharmaceuticals, and many more.
These connectivity sessions provide a unique opportunity for attendees to meet other professionals with similar interests and backgrounds, working together to find solutions to a problem or collaborating to create novel laboratory approaches.
◉ Employment Bureau
The Employment Bureau provides a searchable database for registered candidates and employers, and then facilitates virtual interviews with qualified candidate matches during Pittcon at the request of those employers.
◉ Wallace H. Coulter Lecture
This lecture will present case studies in technology development including enhanced oil recovery, chemical process developments with advanced separations, and in biofuels and new energies.
