Pittcon Introduces The Pittcon Today Excellence Awards

Awards showcase the best and brightest at the world’s leading conference and exposition for laboratory science

Chicago, IL – November 9, 2016 – Pittcon, the world’s leading conference and exposition for laboratory science, is pleased to announce the unveiling of the Pittcon Today Excellence Awards, a series of honors designed to recognize ingenuity and innovation at this year’s conference. For the first time in the conference’s more than sixty year history, the awards will take place in advance of the March event, giving both exhibitors and judges the opportunity to take a deep dive into what innovation looks like in today’s scientific landscape.

Finalists of the Pittcon Today Excellence Awards will be selected by a blue chip panel of experts, including leading voices in academia and industry publications, who will evaluate entries based on ingenuity, creativity, implementation and outcomes, with the principal criterion being the product’s projected impact on the industry and the wider public. The awards, which are open to all exhibitors, will culminate in a special awards ceremony recognizing gold, silver and bronze winners across the three business categories.

“The Pittcon Today Excellence Awards are a chance for attendees to get a glimpse into the future of disease diagnosis, medical advances, medical treatments, genomics, environmental issues, food supply, drug discovery and pharmaceutical advances,” said Marian Nardozzi, senior marketing and communications specialist, Pittcon. “We’re excited to not only see what new innovation exists, but to take part in what’s next.”

Accepting submissions now through Friday, Dec. 16, this year’s finalists will be among nearly 800 exhibitors and one of a host of attractions at the Chicago event. Attended by former and future Nobel Prize recipients, Pittcon attracts attendees from industry, academia and government from more than 90 countries worldwide. The event will be held Mar. 5-9, 2017 at the West Hall of McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.
