The two technical societies that partnered to create the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Pittcon) continue to spotlight the latest trends in analytical science at monthly meetings. Held throughout the year, each monthly meeting welcomes acclaimed speakers presenting their research insight, highlights, and overviews in their fields of expertise. Although membership in the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP) and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP) is limited to those who reside in the Greater Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area and its surrounding regions, all are welcome to attend the monthly virtual meetings.

The mission for both the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP) and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP) is to provide, in the broadest and most beneficial way, support for science education. Each society’s outreach activities are an integral part of their focus and impact, which is realized via the funds collected at each annual installment of Pittcon.
