Clawdia finally reaches Boston!
Our weekend with Clawdia at MilliporeSigma began with a Saturday morning trip to our local Dunkin Donuts for a morning coffee! The DD team loved her! Then it was over the famous Zakim Bridge into downtown Boston.
Clawdia loved the North End – the best place in Boston for Italian food & the famous Mike’s Pastry (the best ricotta pie) While there she met a new friend – while there she met a new friend BIGSBY.
Biggest thrill was the bronze ducks (Make Way For Ducklings) & joining Mrs Mallerd and her 8 (now 9) ducklings in the Boston Common!
A tour of Boston would NOT be complete without seeing the famous Bobby Orr statue at TD Garden – home of our beloved Boston Bruins. Even Bobby was happy that Pittcon is coming to Boston.
And finally pictures of Clawdia in our lab in Burlington Headquarters – we let her look around then decided we need to watch her closely as she went missing for a few minutes – we found her hiding in our Centrifugal Filter Unit Boxes!
Rigaku Americas
Continuing her journey, Clawdia’s next stop was Rigaku in Woodlands, Texas.
Fritsch Milling & Sizing
CLAWDIA arrived in North Carolina ready to GO! She was full of energy and immediately started creating mischief in the lab!! Her shenanigans inspired the entire Fritsch Team and everyone seemed to be having fun!! Eventually she got to some serious work preparing samples to test our brand-new milling instrument and measured particle size with Nicki afterward.
Pittcon wasn’t far from her mind, she and Nicki then got to working on promotional media, themed exhibit booth attire, and showed off some matching J’s. She was a little upset to not have a tiny Fritsch basketball jersey to rep our “Milling Madness” gauntlet challenge. The day ended with some sun, a season opening baseball game at UNC Chapel Hill, and a beautiful star filled evening. The rest of us are ready for bed, CLAWDIA is already making plans for tomorrow!!
From what she says, I’m thinking she may be here for just a little while longer, apparently, she has a lot more to do!!
Clawdia Visits TrippNT
Last week TrippNT was honored to host Clawdia, the illustrious lobster mascot of Pittcon.
We showed Clawdia around our facility, and showed her how we create a better tomorrow for the science industry through our unique continuous improvement approach. She even lent a helping… claw, on some of our carts!
Afterwards, Shane and Devon took Clawdia on a tour of the town! They visited the The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Union Station Kansas City, where the Chiefs Super Bowl hype was at an all time high! 🏈
Of course, no visit to Kansas City is complete without some delicious BBQ. We think Clawdia’s officially a fan.🍗 🍖

Clawdia Visits Alicat Scientific
Clawdia’s second stop was with Alicat in Tucson, Arizona.
Things started off easy for her with a little company history and product training. Here’s me explaining the mechanics of our PCD pressure controllers for closed volumes.
With the foundation of Alicat product knowledge under her shell, we wasted no time putting those pincers to work. Not sure why our operations staff started running when they saw a lobster with a soldering iron….
We made sure our briny business partner got some facetime with BASIS, our MEMS thermal mass flow meter as well.
We know the lobster lady likes to have a good time, so after a hard day of work, we introduced her to a quintessentially Tucson drink — the prickly pear margarita, of course!
Clawdia Visits Horiba
Clawdia’s first stop was Horiba in Irving, California. Clawdia had a blast learning more about Horiba instruments.

Clawdia stopped by the Pittcon office to help with planning the Conference & Expo.
