Although the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, or Pittcon, has wrapped up its 2019 conference, it will continue to have an impact for companies and the industry throughout the year by showcasing new technology and innovations within each niche in the Chemistry field.

From the exhibit floor, Pittcon showcased new research through poster sessions, exclusive product demos and the chance for companies to shine a light on products new and old—reverberating the importance of Pittcon for many industries.

At the Dino-Lite Digital Microscope booth, a television screen projected the close-up image of the inner-workings of a watch underneath one of their digital microscopes.

Kerie Roark, a representative for Dino-Lite, told Laboratory Equipment that there are a lot of companies at Pittcon that use microscopes, but Dino-Lite fills a gap for smaller microscopes that can be used in a reversed way than how microscopes are typically used.

“Instead of having to prepare the sample and bring that to the microscope, with our products you bring the microscope to the sample. Even if you do have high-end microscopes, these microscopes fill a gap for some people,” Roark explained.

Dino-Lite produces a multitude of handheld digital microscopes that are low-power—providing enhanced optics and software.
