OVERVIEW: Historically, the development of new instrumentation and methods in separation science and mass spectrometry has been strongly stimulated by the demands of pharma industry. Now the growing adoption of rapidly advancing ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) and IMS/MS technologies is increasing the specificity, sensitivity, and speed of analyses, while reducing the cost and chemical waste. This is the first symposium at any conference to focus on the pharmaceutical use of IMS. Talks from industry and academia will highlight the utility and potential of both conventional IMS and differential or field asymmetric waveform IMS (FAIMS) in diverse applications.
