Dear High School Teacher:
The Dead Chemist Society demonstration programs have been an annual event at Louisiana Science Teachers Association conferences since 1990. It features about fifteen to twenty demonstrations that illustrate a wide variety of scientific principles. The program lasts for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. It is nationally recognized as one of the most interesting, entertaining, and educational programs of its type.

The Pittcon® 2008 Science Week Committee will host this program for high school students during the Pittsburgh Conference on Thursday morning, March 6, 2008 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. The program is scheduled to run between 9:45 AM and 11:00 AM. The program is free to you and your high school students. Science Week T-Shirts will be presented to you and your students on a first come, first served basis.

Space is limited and selection of the schools will also be on a first come, first served basis (provided that the school’s times of arrival and departure meet the schedule of the activity). Each school must also have one adult chaperone per 20 students. The deadline for receipt of applications is January 14, 2008. Submitting an application does not guarantee your group a space in the program. A confirmation email will be sent by the end of January 2008.
There is no charge to your school for this program!
