20 LSU Scientists and Instructors to Lead Presentations at Pittcon 2015, the World’s Largest Global Meeting on Laboratory Science

Pittsburgh, PA – November 11, 2014 – Twenty-three scientists and instructors from universities in Louisiana have been chosen to present at Pittcon 2015, the world’s largest annual conference and exposition on laboratory science. Of those presenters, 20 will represent Louisiana State University (LSU). The 66th annual event will meet at New Orleans’ Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from Sunday, March 8 through Thursday, March 12, 2015, bringing together more than 18,000 participants from 90 countries worldwide, including world-renowned scientists and experts.

In addition to LSU, scientists from Xavier University of Louisiana, McNeese State University, and Nicholls State University will also lead presentations at the prestigious conference.

In 2007, Pittcon made a contribution of $100,000 for science equipment and supplies to six high schools affected by Hurricane Katrina. Pittcon last convened in Louisiana in 2008, where the conference made a $120,000 contribution in equipment through grants to teachers who attended the conference’s Science Week activities. This year, Pittcon anticipates donating tens of thousands of dollars to New Orleans-area science programs and schools.
